What an excellent sunset it was... We were surrounded by a sea of unconditional love by the people most dear to us. I made a promise. A promise not of any physical tangible matter, for none of which can I be sure of... But the only thing I am sure of is to give her love that last forever and the promise to be near each time she calls, for the only heart I long for is hers.. and that is all. A simple truthful promise from the depths of my being, a promise to be hers mind, body and soul...

The sunset that evening saw the heavens filled with the spectacular colours of love... Rose pink, amber, yellows, gold against the backdrop of baby~blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds, whom themselves were tinted in this rosy shade; all of which paving the perfect setting for this promise I was making. It was as if it was always meant to be. Somewhat written in the heavens.

Well as my best-man said... "dude...! marriages are made in heaven"... Corny as it sounds, I must say I believe him. I truly do!

.... Trust me when I say I couldn't sleep at all the night before. My heart was beating so fast I thought I was gonna have a heart attack.

After helping out my momma clearing the house for the glorious engagement day.... that's when it hit me. Omegod.... I'm gonna be facing my new family the next day. With an entourage of 11 cars, you can imagine how I felt. I must say it will certainly be a DAY that will remain in every guest's memory.

As I put on the final touches to my outfit... my momma walks into the room and says "It's Time". Doop Dap Doop Dap [triple fast] was the sound of my heart.

I walked down the stairs... like a lil' geisha... tee hee hee. All eyes ON me. It's a W O N D E R F U L feeling.... getting the attention and all. Walked straight to the pillow and I just could NOT stop smillin'.

My future mother in-law walks up to me to put on the engagement ring. Tee hee hee... just could not stop smillin again. In goes the ring and Ooops... didn't quite fit. Josh forgot the size of my finger. But it didn't really matter to me... cause I sooo love the ring and we're able to change the size. The R I N G says a lot about the both of us... Bold & Unique.

I'm happy that at last both families get to meet officially. And it was a PLUS point that both our mothers comes from the same kampung and everybody almost knows each other... sort of a reunion in a way.

... and so the C O U N T D O W N is now less than 3 months ...

All is well at Lone Pine... the tsunami that wracked havoc through south asia, apparently slipped by our quaint little hotel the venue for our big day. Lone Pine sits on the beach in Batu Ferringgi, Penang a measly 20m from the waves but as shown in the image above, (taken by Kim Sieper our florist for the wedding) Lone Pine dosen't seem to have been affected. When Zachy called telling me about the tsunami just as it happen it didn't hit me that the hotel was in the path of that reported 3 story wave that smashed everything in its path, until Zachy said "Dei your weddinglah...! Lone Pine... Batu Ferringgi... On the beach!" that i thought "Shit...!!! Our wedding!!!!"

Don't mean to sound insensitive and it is a tragedy so many lives were lost but I saw the pictures of Lone Pine taken after the tsunami hit the only thing that ran through my mind was "Phewwww...!!!" I guess Lone Pine was meant to be. And much thanks to Kim who went out of her way on her own account, to go get this pictures and send it to us...

Our love goes out to the thousands of people lost a loved one that day...

...Finally we've signed the dotted line with Lone Pine after much discussion and long long emails... :o)

Lone Pine was kind enough to let us have 48 rooms at such an unbeatable price...and most of the credit would have to go to Antonio Foo, for his knowledge in business negotiating and my ever so fussy groom...[and yes, the bride confesses that she did make some ungodly noise too....when it was needed [a rare thing I must say]. Next step would be the food tasting....which I can't wait, because we've requested Lone Pine's chef to come out with a tailormade menu to suit the theme of the glorious occasion.

Apart from the F&B....there's the decoration !!!!! Color theme has been set....it's warm...Red, Orange, Yellow and a thinge of White which would stand out in the ever Green surrounding of the casurina trees and backed by the beautiful Blue sea.
There's just too many ideas and look that we like, that at this point we can't seem to decide just as yet till our next visit to Penang.

I've noticed that everywhere that I go....there's nothing else in my head other than....."Hmmm, that would look good for the wedding".....OR....."I wonder how long it would take to for them to make it"....OR question that I'll ask...."Excuse me, how much would it cost to have it made to the colors that I want?"....OR...."Can I get a better price if I were to order a lot?"....OR...."What's the minimum order amount?"

....I SURE DO ENJOY THIS....

3 weeks we were away from each other and I learned that it's something that every couple need, to keep the love burning. 3 weeks away from one another brought us closer to each other as we got to miss each other. 3 weeks apart from you taught me a valuable lesson that I've just discovered. Love does not mean that a couple need to constantly be in the presents of each other. 3 weeks has passed and I treasure the time we got to spend on our own.

Well... we're still arranging for the wedding preparations. It's less than 226 days left to the BIGday!! It's a whole lot of planning to do....no joke. We're off to Penang on 22nd October, Friday to lock down the Garden Dinner Reception @ Lone Pine. Managed to block book 30 rooms so far, at a very fair price for 2 nights stay. But nevertheless, we're trying to knock it down some more considering that we are trying to book the whole place. Lots to discuss with the hotel management..... f&b, decorations, table layout, lighting, music....and the list goes on "Thanks Toni, for helping us out. You're an angel sent from above"

Still working on the Lone Pine guest list....there's 120++ number of pax at the moment including kids. The Lone Pine reception is for close family and friends a lil' trimming on the list will be needed. That's gonna be difficult.....

31st December 2003 :: As the New Year of 2004 came strolling along, we both decided that it would be more meaningful to celebrate it together in the comfort of our home instead of being out in town celebrating it with the rest of the world. This was something new to me as I've always celebrated it amongst friends. As we chilled, danced, sang together and talked, we realized that we both have gone thru so much in life regardless if it was together or on our own. We talked about the people we've meet, people we've been with and exchange experience that we've had growing up.

I discovered that thru my long journey of growing up I have had the chance to meet the love of my life but just passed it by. And I thank god for it. Cause we both were able to explore what god has installed for the both of us. I can truly say that "Things Happen For A Reason".

As we both lied down on the floor looking into each others eyes.....he asked me " Will You Marry Me?"

I was in a state of shock. Not because I did not believe I would be married to him, but because of hearing it coming out from his mouth so very soon at an unexpected moment. To be with a person that I will grow old with.

He took off the diamond earrings that he was wearing and put it on my ears. Tears rolled down my eyes, for I questioned myself is this truly happening? Am I dreaming? Somebody please pinch me.
That was 6 months ago.......

The day has been set on the 19th May 2005. Which marks 10 years of our friendship and the beginning of a new journey.

I truly believe that I am the luckiest Woman, for there is a Man that loves me. A Man that respects me for who I am, a Man that loves his family and mine, a Man that cherish and values his friends & a Man that lives his dreams.
